
Job Summary:
The Golf Car Mechanic is responsible for maintaining, repairing, and servicing golf carts to ensure they are safe and operational for use. They will diagnose mechanical issues, perform routine maintenance, and make necessary repairs to keep the customers golf carts in top condition.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Diagnose and Repair: Identify mechanical and electrical problems with golf carts through diagnostic tests and visual inspections. Repair or replace faulty parts to ensure proper functioning.
2. Routine Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes, lubrication, brake adjustments, tire rotation, and battery checks to prevent breakdowns and ensure optimal performance.
3. Electrical Systems: Troubleshoot and repair electrical systems including batteries, wiring, lights, and controllers.
4. Customer Service: Interact with customers to understand issues with golf carts, provide repair recommendations, and ensure customer satisfaction.
5. Safety Compliance: Ensure all golf carts meet safety standards and regulations. Perform safety inspections and make necessary adjustments or repairs to address any safety concerns.
6. Inventory Management: Maintain inventory of spare parts, tools, and supplies necessary for repairs and maintenance. Order replacement parts as needed to keep inventory stocked.
7. Documentation: Keep detailed records of maintenance and repairs performed on each golf cart. Document parts used, services completed, and hours worked on each vehicle.
Requirements:
1. Technical Skills: Proficient in diagnosing and repairing mechanical and electrical issues in golf carts. Knowledge of small engines, batteries, and electrical systems is required.
2. Experience: Previous experience working as a golf cart technician or in a similar role is preferred. Experience with golf cart brands such as EZ-GO, Yamaha, or Club Car is a plus.
3. Certification: Certification from a technical school or vocational program in automotive technology or a related field is desirable.
4. Physical Fitness: Ability to lift heavy objects, bend, stoop, and stand for extended periods. Working outdoors in various weather conditions may be required.
5. Attention to Detail: Meticulous attention to detail when diagnosing problems and performing repairs to ensure the safety and reliability of golf carts.
6. Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills to interact with customers, colleagues, and suppliers effectively.
